 What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and is a type of therapy that helps people heal from traumatic or difficult life experiences. In a uniquely gentle and efficient way, EMDR is a therapeutic approach that recognizes that you have within you the ability to heal and grow.  In addition to trauma and adverse life experiences,  it is also effective in addressing anxiety, depression, phobias, and grief.

How Does EMDR Work?

When a traumatic event or adverse life experience occurs,  that experience can block the brain from using it's natural recovery methods, and the information around the thoughts, sensations, and emotions that you experienced in that event can get stuck in the nervous system. This can cause significant impact on your well being and mental health. EMDR helps the memory and emotions get unstuck so that they can finish being processed in a healthy and integrative way, subsequently providing relief and positive change.

I am certified in EMDR therapy, and have seen how incredibly effective and powerful EMDR has been in creating healing and positive shifts in the lives of the clients with whom I have worked, both in person and remotely. Please contact me if you would like to discuss how EMDR might benefit you.
